I am probably taking my life in my hands by reviewing this item and angering the millions of Garden Weasle’s fans, but it just doesn’t do it for me. The only way this works in maintenance mode is if the soil has been tilled at the beginning of the planting season and virtually pulverized. If you work your soil and ammend it with add’l peat and topsoil this works o.k. Unfortunately, I don’t do anything that labor intensive in spring and usually have a hard time using this. It is an enormous physical struggle to work this contraption through the garden. I suspect that anyone who works their soil before planting will find this does a satisfatory job. I unfortunately probably don’t do as much prep-work as I should and find the results lackluster at best.

Just like I saw on TV., October 21, 2009

This is one of the first products that was direct marketed to the public using infomercials. I remember being very young in the 1980′s and watching the gardeners on TV happily using their Garden Weasels and winning the war against weeds! And so easy to clean up!

Well here I am almost 30 years older and finally planting my first serious vegetable garden. It’s so beautiful and promising, but after a recent downpour there came weeds sprouting up everywhere! Almost blanketing the garden!

The infomercial from the 80′s had a delayed reaction, but as soon as I had the idea of getting the Garden Weasel I KNEW it was the solution for me.

So I just bought one and I’m pretty happy with it. It ripped up the ground and gave the soil a pleasing fresh broken up texture, and it ripped out the young weed shoots. I had to put more weight into it than I remember the seniors did in the infomercial and on the website, but it was relatively easy to use.

Great gardening implement!!, June 5, 2010

The garden weasel worked great to dig up bare spots on my lawn so I could plant grass seed…very easy to use!! It was also easy to clean off with the hose!!

Stay away from this product!, August 26, 2006

This is a cheaply-made product. Its photograph in the Amazon website does not reflect its actual, and very poor, quality. It has a flimsy bottom so it does not conduct heat efficiently; thin sides; and a top handle that will burn your fingers after a few minutes on the fire.

Very nice and durable, July 26, 2009

I’ve been using this for months now after getting rid of my Teflon coated products. It has a quality weight to it and and still looks great. I plan on going back to this brand to complete my set. Highly recommended.

Nice looking wine rack, especially for the price, January 23, 2012

I was looking for an inexpensive wine rack to use in my closet, and this was perfect. It just fit in the shelves, it is sturdy and it holds the wine perfectly. It is nice looking. I would have no problem using it outside the closet if that worked for me.

Revised Review, September 15, 2010

For some reason I expected these were going to be similar to a Pyrex glass and that they would be oven proof like a custard cup. I wanted to make custards, grapenut, and pumpkin puddings in them in the oven and then just cover them and put them in the fridge. I know they don’t say they are heat proof in the description. The description says they are microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. So my mistake in ordering them. BUT the box they come in has little pictures of a microwave, a dishwasher, a freezer and AN OVEN……EDIT: Since first writing this review I have baked custards in these cups and they definitely are oven proof. The description on Amazon should make this clear. I really like these for baking and for storing small items in the fridge. Also, in response to the reviewer who said the lids look like they would not last very long I’d like to attest to the fact that they are VERY sturdy and hold up very well. You can wash them in the dishwasher too.

Perfect for Baby Food, October 25, 2010

I was looking for something reasonably priced that would allow me to store (in the fridge) and serve baby food. Because I do not like to microwave in plastic, something glass and with lids was ideal. I have not had the problems with the lids seeming cheap or leaky at all and the bowls nest nicely so they take up very little space. I freeze food in cubes and then use these dishes to warm and serve or keep food fresh in the fridge. Ideal!

good for lunches you keep upright…they do not seal well, July 28, 2010

We got these to send snacks with our son for his lunch. They are a good size for snacky things (berries, etc.). And, compared to the various small lunch-box size glass storage I looked at, these are one of the best deals. For some reason, small glass bowls with lids are insanely expensive, at least by my standards. However, it seems to me like the lids are mostly to keep food in, not to keep things from leaking. Thus, they aren’t good if the lunch isn’t going to be upright, which could be a problem in many lunch boxes. Not sure if I just got a bad batch without a good seal, but for lunches that need to be leak-proof, this may not be ideal. For other storage around house of spices, etc. probably works well.
